#When Gargasoulas first became intoxicated on drugs like meth or cannabis when he was 17 years old, he started committing his first crime in 2008, where he would assault someone.

#In 2016, his drug addiction eventually caused him to enter a drug-induced state, where he would then tell others he had the God gene or that he had seen the triangle of the Illuminati. This is why schizophrenic people should never use meth or cannabis.
#He accused his brother, '''Angelo''', that he is planning to kill him, and how he killed one of his ex-partners. He also told various other people about his plans.
#He believed that his anonymous pregnant girlfriend(Who is only identified as "M") his cheating on him, so he would proceed to punch her multiple times while she was in her car.
#*It was then revealed he also had thoughts of killing her.
#In December 2016, he then posted unhinged messages on Facebook that mention religion, God, Satan, heaven and hell, including a message about how a comet will destroy the earth and he is a gift from god.
#On January 14, 2017, he would send his mother messages that were a series of threatening text messages addressing various bizarre religious themes. He also told his brother a disturbing statement that if he were involved in a police pursuit, he would keep driving and start running people over on January 17, 2017.
#In the early hours of January 20, 2017, he would become intoxicated on meth at his mother's flat<ref>https://www.theage.com.au/national/victoria/bourke-street-mall-driver-identified-as-james-jimmy-gargasoulas-20170120-gtvs2m.html</ref>, and he would get into an altercation with his brother, before using a chef's knife to stab him in the chest and head, which left him in critical condition.
#*When he'checked in' at Dogs Bar, St Kilda, on Facebook, posting: "Thinking. About what to do with them lol.", was refused entry into Dogs Bar as he was suspected of being under the influence of drugs. #*He went to the Gatwick Hotel in St Kilda and told a friend he was going to commit his attack and be famous on the news tonight, and that the police can't stop him, before holding his girlfriend hostage by shoving her into his car and mentioning what he would do next. After this, he would push her out of the car and injure her unborn baby, before driving past red lights, yelling at bystanders and police officers, and getting into a police pursuit that would trigger the attack, where he would then attempt to evade the police by driving into the Bourke Mall, killing six people and injuring 27 others.
#Upon his arrest and trial, he then admitted that the car he had used for the attack was a 1995 Holden Commodore (VS) Executive sedan<ref>https://www.theage.com.au/national/victoria/elite-police-unit-refused-to-help-arrest-gargasoulas-before-massacre-20181113-p50ft3.html</ref>, stolen from his mother's ex-husband's flat, where he would enter his flat with a bible, before burning it and throwing the bible at his face and punching him, and he would steal his phone and car keys while he was knocked unconcious.
#Since Gargasoulas was still intoxicated on meth in court, he would then proceed to tell the judges that he was "very saddened" by what had happened, but his actions were under the control of others, how he was under extreme stress, which caused him to have a mental breakdown, how Muslim faith is the correct faith according to the whole world, and how it's not fair and that life is being controlled by the Government.
#*On November 13, 2018, Gargasoulas was found guilty of six counts of murder and 27 counts of reckless conduct endangering life.<ref>https://www.smh.com.au/national/victoria/gargasoulas-found-guilty-of-murdering-six-in-2017-bourke-st-rampage-20181113-p50fp1.html</ref> Medical experts believed that on the day of the offence he was suffering from a drug-induced psychosis with paranoid delusional beliefs and was found to have amphetamine-type substances, barbiturates and benzodiazepines in his system. However, he was still aware of his actions and the consequences, that it would be considered to be wrongful and that he could skilfully avoid fixed obstacles whilst driving. Justice Weinberg found that he developed paranoid schizophrenia after the offence.
