TheAnimeMen (previously under the tag gmoney_swag12), or The Anime Men, is an American YouTube channel run by a group of friends. They are known for creating comedic anime-related videos as well as music videos revolving around anime or Japanese music. == Why They're Anime Tourists == #Despite claiming to love and watch anime, they barely ever made videos that analyzes or reviews anime and basically do shorts, skits, or MrBeast type videos. #Some of their videos have nothing to do with anime as well. #Their waifu tier lists are just awful. They also made a video on overrated anime where they argue over what shows are overrated which is just meant to sound subjective as overrated doesn't mean bad. #Their content doesn't even feel appealing to anime fans and instead just feels like most content farm channels on Youtube. #Their infamous video where they rank the first episode of every anime of the year where in this video, they show disrespect to classic shows, watch them on 2x speed, look at their phones, and also rating the classics quite low while the modern ones are rated high. They also quiestioned why Goku has a tail even though it's common knowledge why he does. The video also has one of the guys saying they hated anime their whole life until they watched Death Note in the pandemic which led to many assuming they watched it around that time since it's when anime became more popular. It caused a lot of backlash from anime fans and Youtubers alike, to the point where they got viewed as tourists who are people who like anime because it's "trendy". #Their follow up video where they apologized for the video still has problems as while it's an improvement from the previous video as they show respect to classic titles, it leaves out some shows that they showed disrespect too and also rated low. It doesn't change the fact that they still kept the video up despite claiming how awful it was. == Redeeming Qualities == #Their music videos are pretty good and well made. Even Yoasobi and Creepy Nuts whom whose songs were used commented on them. They also interviewed Yoasobi. #At least they admitted the ranking video was bad and made up for it by improving as content creators, though that's not saying much. Comments
