Mat Brunet (born October 5, 1992 [age {{#expr:(2026)-(1992)-((06)<(10)or(06)=(10)and(13)<(5))}}]), also known on YouTube as ElectricDragon505 or AniMat, is a Canadian YouTuber who reviews computer-animated, stop-motion, and traditionally-animated films. He's known for mostly reviewing animated movies, but he also reviews anime's and TV shows.
While he is well liked during his early years he starts to had a decline during the 2013 when he starts his attack on Sony Pictures Animation. But in 2016 until 2021 he becomes one of the infamous user in the cartoon community due to his behavior on his main channel and his podcast channel.
Why He Should Get The Seal of Garbage
NOTE: This article will primarily address AniMat's problem during 2016 to 2021, while also examining some of his preexisting problems before and after this era.
- Some of the biggest issue is similar to Christian Thomas Diaz, Bob Chipman and Tony Goldmark he becomes increasing political along with becoming more biased towards anyone who has a different views towards him. While yes he has a right to talk about why he does not like Trump. He ended going too far by insulting anyone who disagree with his opinion.
- One example of it is his hatred towards Sony Pictures Animation by attacking the artist by calling them "brain-dead 5-year-olds" and calling it "the cancer of animation" in his Cloudy with the Chance of Meatballs 2 review.
- He treated Sony Pictures Animation like they're like they bullied him and even hates all their Pre-Spider-Verse films (expect Surf's Up, Arthur Christmas, Pirates: Band Of Misfits, Goosebumps, and (to a lesser extent) Smurfs: The Lost Village), and even to the point that he WANTS THE STUDIO TO SHUT DOWN! Thankfully, it changed ever since Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse came out.
- HE WORSHIPS DISNEY LIKE A GOD, yes, Disney does make a lot of good movies, but they make/involve in garbage movies as well (such as Cars 2, some of the Direct-To-DVD sequels, Mars Needs Moms, and The Black Cauldron for example), even when they made some movies that he hates (such as Chicken Little, Home On The Range, Planes, Strange Magic (it's technically a Disney film since the film was produced by Lucasfilm and Lucasfilm have been owned by Disney since 2009) for example), he still thinks Disney is a 10/10 company.
- It doesn't even help the fact that he still treats Disney's Animation like their animation is perfect, when Disney has terrible animation as well (with the Direct-To-DVDs sequels being great examples of bad Disney animation), while he mostly gives films with much better animation from other studios (such as KPop Demon Hunters, The Super Mario Bros. Movie, The Bad Guys for example) just either 7/10 or 8/10, THAT'S IT!
- The infamous ranking where he placed Incredibles 2 over Into The Spider-Verse...
- In his September 2023 Crazy Cartoon Cast, he never mentioned Happy Tree Friends' return, which upsetting many HTF fans.
